The Gardiner Young Scholars Program

We are delighted to have been awarded funding from the Robert D. L. Gardiner Foundation for several high school students to work on a needed project over the summer.  The chosen students are helping to sort and identify the Society’s massive antique tool collection, including wood planes, saws, awls, axes, adzes, scythes, and other tools.

The program requires the completion of 100 hours of combined service. Working in the Society’s Dutch Barn, circa 1690, the students are laying the groundwork in our plans to transform the interior into a new exhibition space for agricultural tools, sleighs, wagons and other larger items in our collection.
